Kayaking the Platte River

If ever there was a more perfect day or a more perfect river, I do not know.  This may have been the best thing we've ever done on vacation.  It was costly, but so worth it that we did it all over again two days later.

The kayaks were easy to maneuver, the water was clear and shallow, and the paddling was completely enjoyable.  The Platter River empties into Lake Michigan where we stayed and played for hours in the sugar sand beach.  If you don't know what sugar sand is, I'll enlighten you: it's sand that brushes right off and doesn't leave you feeling dirty.

We had so much fun and hope to go kayaking again next summer!
