Recently, our small homeschool coop got together to do some crafts and activities in relation to the Alamo and western expansion. The children did some fun things like making Texas flags, making and eating tacos, playing some traditional games, listening to a story called Voices of the Alamo, and making some Native American owner sticks.

Here are Madeline and Lydia making their owner sticks. Owner sticks were used by Native Americans to mark their belongings. If a person's owner stick was in front of a pile of wood (or something else), no one else would dare touch it!
