Fun and games

The girls have been wanting their own scooters since they rode their cousins' scooters this summer in Michigan. Aunts, uncles, and grandparents came through with these awesome scooters, elbow pads, knee pads, and gloves! Trust me, the elbow and knee pads have been well used! The girls rode them in the garage for about 3 hours on Christmas Day- it was too rainy to be outside but they really wanted to ride.  We're looking forward to warmer weather when we can be outside - it should only be a few weeks now!

Horseopoly!  Lydia and Madeline received this game for Christmas and it was a hit! I was out of town the first time they played but I got a full report via email. Before they played for the first time, Steve explained that it was a complicated game and that he would give them the basic idea and then help them through each part of the game. According to Steve, Madeline promptly said, with a proper voice inflection, "It's property management" like it's no big deal! After the dad-imposed 3-hour time limit, and some bouncing back and forth between the girls, Madeline was declared the winner! Steve says he was never really in the running.  Another round was played later that same weekend with Lydia as the winner.  The girls were working together cutting each other deals and selling high-value property at discount prices to keep their dad out of the running!  Resourcefulness, teamwork, and girl power!
