Day 1: Frank Lloyd Wright house

This is Frank Lloyd Wright's first prairie style home.  We took a guided tour and loved it!  There were no other people on the tour, so it was like the guide was there just for us.

This was the entrance on the driveway side of the house.  The glass door was added in recent years.

Frank Lloyd Wright was known for designing everything in a house, down to the furniture, dishes, silverware, and apparently even told the woman of the house what to wear for her first reception in one of his houses.

Blurry picture, but I kept it anyway because it shows the huge walk-in closet for the master bedroom.

These library alcoves were on either side of the large entertaining room downstairs.

This is a sitting area in a second-story bedroom.  There was storage under some of the cushions, as well.

The windows were designed to look like tulips.  I think it's a bit of a stretch, but they were beautiful nonetheless.

Long story behind this yellow top Madeline is wearing, but suffice it to say that she was cracking me up with her "lemon mint kittens" story.

First day of the big trip was a success!
