What's better than a horse?

A baby horse!

Today the girls got a big surprise... they got to see several foals!  A friend took us to a special place to see these little beauties up close.  She has an inside connection- her husband works here!  He works for a local university and gets to work with the horses once or twice a week.  Madeline said, "He is SO lucky to work here!"

Lydia almost got to pet this one, but not quite!

This isn't a baby - it's a pony.  Our friend, who was once a vet, helped the girls give this pony lots of scratching.  So much of its coat came off, the ground started to look like a carpet!

This little one was born last night and was still sleepy!
