What a day! We had an amazing day exploring the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula. It was a beautiful day filled with stunning waterfalls and delicious wild berries.
First stop, right next to Jacob's Falls, is Jampot. The monk who talked to us was very patient while he itemized the ingredients in each huge muffin. He did this while his long, scraggly beard hung over the uncovered food... eww... but we bought some muffins despite this turn-off.
They were really serious about NOT parking near the building...
After eating muffins, we admired Jacob's Falls right outside the bakery. We even climbed up next to the falls for a few minutes.
Next, Eagle Harbor Lighthouse on our way to Copper Harbor

En route from Eagle River (Jampot and Jacob's Falls) to Copper Harbor, we took the famed Brockway Mountain Drive.
It was sooo cold up on that mountain that I didn't want to get out of the car. I was almost content with this view, but finally decided to get out and really experience it firsthand.

We found wild berries while exploring Manganese Falls!
Wild blueberries! So good!
Thimbleberries- we had never heard of them until this trip. They were so yummy, like raspberries but crunchier. They grow on a plant with huge leaves so the plants are easy to spot. We saw several people picking thimbleberries along the side of a tree-lined road. We got out to pick some but the bugs chased us off. These were picked right by Manganese Falls.
Last stop, Copper Harbor. We took the North Trail and hiked for a few minutes until we reached Lake Superior.

I spent forever trying to get the perfect picture of the waves crashing on the rocks. Never did get the shot I was hoping for, but these will have to do.
