We officially started school on July 20th. The girls are growing up so fast; Madeline is now in 3rd grade and Lydia is in 2nd.
Our History focus this year will be the 19th Century with a heavy emphasis on US history. Some of our topics will be: Napoleon, the Louisiana Purchase, The War of 1812, the Alamo, the Trail of Tears, the Erie Canal, the Oregon Trail, the California Gold Rush, the Civil War, the transcontinental railroad, immigration, and people and inventions of the 1800's.
We celebrated our first day of school by making rice krispy treats in the shape of the USA!
